Indefinite detention -- we won!
We did it! A federal court in New York just ruled indefinite detention UNCONSTITUTIONAL and issued a permanent injunction against use of that law -- it would have allowed the military to detain civilians -- even Americans -- indefinitely and without trial if they're accused of certain crimes.
Please click here to tell Obama to back off of his support of indefinite detention, and tell your senators to oppose it when it comes up for a vote this fall.
http://act.demandprogress.org/
It's an egregious violation of the Constitution, a disgusting infringement upon our due process rights, and has already had a chilling effect on activists and journalists. That's why writer Chris Hedges and six others sued to block it.
Shockingly, the Obama administration has consistently supported indefinite detention this year -- signing it into law in the dark of night on New Year's Eve and defending it in court. If we don't do anything, they'll probably keep fighting to protect this law!
Click here to tell Obama to quit supporting indefinite detention.

Drifted apart
I am not exactly sure at which point in my life I have lost touch with my family. It’s not that I stopped talking to them, it’s just that I stopped communicating to them about my needs. The most complicated relationship however is with Susan. We never speak at all not unless she needs something and even then it’s rare for her to tell me what she wants to my face she will do it through our mother. She only asks me for favors when she know that mother will not approve. She knows I will not say “no” to her and she uses it. Her request are always about money. She always barrows, but never gives anything back. To make our relationship even worse she criticizes everything from the programs I watch on TV to my sense of humor. This abuse has been going on for far to long. It’s time that I assert my needs, learn to say “No”, and to stand up for myself. I don’t know if it’s going to improve the relationship between me and Susan, but I do know that it will improve the way I relate to self.

Unprovoked aggression.
I have been on the computer looking for the good water filter when my mother came in to tell me that I was supposed to walk my dogs two hours ago. I didn’t like the tone she has used while talking to me, so one thing led to another and I ended up throwing dog’s leashes at her. I think that lack of sleep is making me loose my self-control which is scary to me as I am not a violent type of person. Does anyone has a method of dealing with mood swings caused by fatigue?
My nightmare trip or how I have sliped back into sugar adiction.
More then 5 years ago I had done sugar detox it has been miserable time for me with a lot of headaches and cold like symptoms. After it was all over I had been feeling great, my depression forgotten. I have been clean for a year when my grandmother’s friend had decided to hook me up with a acquaintance son. I have agreed and she gave him my phone number. He has called me and that’s how my long distance relationship has started. I thought he was kind, sweet, and smart. I thought he was a perfect man for me so after a year of communication over the phone I have aloud to talk myself into going to Germany where my Prince Charming had lived. Before booking the ticket, that I have stupidly paid for myself, we had made a verbal agreement that all the worm clothing will be provided on my arrival after all it has been winter. I live in CA and have no need for anything warmer than a jacket. By my arrival to Germany I have soon realized that they are not planning to keep their word and I have to buy everything on my own. Not only that my Guide, by then ex-prince charming, was not in much of a hurry to take me to a place where I can exchange money. So not was I only without any worm clothing, but without any money at least any that would be excepted in the stores (he had explained to me that the dollar was not excepted in most stores, he never told me where it is excepted). That’s how I spend my two miserable weeks. Why I didn’t leave? The thing is I was staying at his mother’s place. Every time I talked to someone on the phone she would be there listening so it made it kind of hard to talk to anyone. I also wasn’t sure how I can exchange the ticket without having to answer a few uncomfortable questions. By now I am sure you are wondering what does depression has to do with all of this. This is what. I have been so called and miserable that I started eating sugary foods again. At first everything was fine and I had started to believe that it will always be this way, but alas I was wrong my depression has returned. Now I have to go through all this uncomfortable proses again.

Protect our families from toxic chemicals
Did you know that the EPA is required to test only a few hundred of the 85,000 different chemicals currently on the market? In fact, the federal law governing how we regulate chemicals doesn’t even require chemical companies to prove that the chemicals they make are safe before they end up in products.
This means that on a daily basis we are at risk of being exposed to dangerous, cancer-causing chemicals. These harmful chemicals may be in our workplaces, our classrooms and our homes in our clothing, furniture, cleaning products, plastics, cosmetics, children’s toys and countless other everyday products.
That’s why I’ve signed a petition urging the Senate to pass the Safe Chemicals Act, which would take meaningful steps to protect our families from harmful toxic chemicals. Will you join me?

Indefinite detention
President Obama just signed the National Defense Authorization Act into law despite startling provisions that will allow the military to indefinitely detain American citizens. It's a travesty, defying basic principles of justice and due process in perhaps the most extreme respect our nation has ever seen.
Thankfully, several lawmakers are keeping up the fight. Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced legislation to undo these provisions of the NDAA, in the form of the Due Process Guarantee Act. We need to urge other Senators to support it. Just click here:
http://ping.fm/6cTcJ
"The Due Process Guarantee Act of 2011 amends the Non-Detention Act of 1971 by providing that a Congressional authorization for the use of military force does not authorize the indefinite detention—without charge or trial—of U.S. citizens who are apprehended domestically."
If there's enough of a public outcry, we have a real chance of making this happen: More than 40 senators voted against the indefinite detention provisions of the NDAA -- and that was before the media and general public caught on to what was happening.
Please urge your Senators to remedy this terrible wrong. Just click here:

Thanks.
